I Finally Found the Toys That Make My Little One’s Imagination Run Wild

I won’t lie—I hate that I’ve resorted to using a tablet to keep my six-year-old occupied. Now it’s become the only thing she wants to do, and it’s taken away any reason for her to use her imagination and play. And don’t even get me started on how she now seems older beyond her years (and not in a good way). If you’re a parent, I’m sure you can relate.

That’s why I started chatting with other moms at the playground and heard about Schleich—toys that are meant to spark creativity and problem-solving. Desperate to cut down on my daughter’s screen time and instead foster her imagination, I decided to give these toys a try. Here are my thoughts:

My daughter hasn’t begged for her tablet in months

Knowing how much my daughter loves horses, I couldn’t resist getting the Horse Transporter set, which lets her transport, groom, and train horses, along with whatever else her imagination sparks up, like bbq-ing and lounging in the rooftop pool.

This set includes over 100 accessories that keep her occupied for hours each afternoon:

  • Transporter
  • Car seats
  • Kitchenette
  • Fence
  • Pitchfork
  • Obstacle poles
  • And more

She’s learning how to set up the stable, build an obstacle course, manage four horses and a dog… the list goes on.

The house is so quiet now, and whenever I check on her, she’s totally engulfed in her playset. Her tablet has been sitting forgotten in a drawer ever since I brought this set home.

She’s more curious and playful in other parts of life

I didn’t realize how much my daughter’s tablet was limiting her until I got the Horse Transporter set. Now that she’s been spending hours lost in her own imagination free-playing, it’s like her creativity has finally come out of its shell. She’s dancing and singing more, trying arts and crafts, solving problems for herself, and sharing with other kids.

She’s like a whole new child — bubbly, smart, and witty. I love how she’s become so interested in discovering the world and understanding the big picture.

Schleich toys are easy to set up and built to last

There’s nothing worse than spending money on toys that fall apart after a few uses. Luckily, that’s not the case here. From the second we opened the box, we could tell that the figurines and accessories were built from high-quality, durable materials.

My daughter has dragged her set to the beach, through the backyard, on the driveway, in the car… and it’s still holding up (well worth the $139.99). Plus, the toy setup on each of these trips was super quick, so she could start playing right away. No more meltdowns over broken toys or dead tablets!

There are options for kids of all ages

A kid’s imagination shouldn’t stop being nurtured as they get older. Schleich understands that and has created toys for kids aged 3-11+.

They have Play Worlds, like Wild Life, Farm World, and Dinosaurs. They also have themes, like wild animals, dragons and monsters, unicorns and fairies, volcanos, and more. They’re the perfect gifts for all the birthday parties on your calendar.

When she isn’t focused on the Horse Transporter set, my daughter has been loving the Glittering flower house with its beautiful unicorns, lake, and stable.

We’re a tablet-free family now!

The Horse Transporter set has given my daughter the gift of using her creativity, solving problems, and getting lost in her own world. And it’s given me the gift of peace knowing that she’s not wasting away on a screen and growing up too fast.

The best part? She’s blossomed, and other parents have noticed. They’ve even gotten some sets of their own, and now the kids in the neighborhood swap Play Worlds!

For free shipping on orders $75+ and free returns within 30 days, you can’t go wrong with letting your children try these toys to see how much their little minds grow. The only thing I regret is not hearing about them sooner!
