No one tells you that feeding your kids will be a full-time job. You know, on top of the other dozen full-time jobs that parenting asks of us not including my actual job. When I discovered kids meal subscriptions like Little Spoon and Cerebelly, I was enticed, but skeptical.

I knew calling in help with feeding the kids would save me time and preserve my sanity, but I’m not willing to sacrifice nutrition and introduce preservatives just for convenience.

Turns out Little Spoon and Cerebelly are aligned with my non-negotiables. Both are filled with nutritious whole foods, preservative-free, and organic.

Find out which one is changing my life as a parent:

If you want a one-stop shop for your baby & toddler… Little Spoon

Some things that Little Spoon and Cerebelly have in common: they’re organic, non-GMO, and made fresh without preservatives. Both are tested for heavy metals and loaded up with nutrient-dense whole foods. Both have safe options for introducing baby’s first foods, but Cerebelly’s offerings are limited to pouches and bars.

Little Spoon’s foods range from purées, to healthy meals cut up into bite-size pieces, to ready-to-eat meals for toddlers and preschoolers. Plus, they have pouches that appeal to kids of all ages for a healthy on the go snack.

As a mom of a two year-old and an infant newly starting solids, Little Spoon meets all our needs. Cerebelly is up to some great stuff but they really only fill in the cracks.

If your little one is a pouch monster…It’s a tie

My two year-old went through a phase when all she would eat were pouches. Those were the days when the only pouches I knew about were applesauce. If I’d known to fill our cupboard with Little Spoon or Cerebelly pouches, that period of time wouldn’t have been as stressful! Shout out to the mom at the playground who showed me the light.

With the puréed pouch options that Little Spoon and Cerebelly offer, even the pickiest kiddo can have veggies like spinach, golden beets, and peas in their regular diet. Plus healthy grains like oats, and legumes like white beans, and seeds like chia and hemp.

While both brands offer foods that are completely free of the 8 most popular allergens, they do allow some great early exposure to a range of foods. 🥜🌰🥚🥛🐚🐟

If you want the most delicious option (and obviously you do)… Little Spoon

If your child has already graduated from babyhood to toddlerhood, you may have found yourself asking, “What happened to my good eater?” Suddenly they’re turning their nose up at broccoli and wanting only cheesy carbs.

This is my favorite part about Little Spoon: their Plates combine the best of “kid food” like tater tots and nuggets, but they’ve got veggies snuck in them. They’re served alongside classic kid-friendly vegetables like corn and sweet potatoes, because exposure to whole foods in their pure form is important, too, as children develop their eating habits.

Cerebelly does have some delicious pouches and bars in their shop, but when it comes to feeding an actual meal to an older baby or kid, they simply don’t have the meal options.

If you seek a community of like-minded parents… Little Spoon

“Is this normal?” This is probably the most-asked parent question, right? It’s also the name of the Little Spoon blog, which boasts a panel of experts including a pediatric dietitian, a sleep consultant, a doula and lactation counselor, and more.

Together these professionals answer common questions and less-common ones alike, and actually have a place where you can submit an inquiry about whatever is on your mind. I have found so much peace and a sense of belonging in the late night hours on this site!

I’ll be going with Little Spoon from here on out

Cerebelly does what they do really well, but Little Spoon goes above and beyond. With options to feed my new-to-solids baby, my picky toddler, and even myself from time to time (thanks, Smoothies)—plus answers to common questions and an opportunity for community on their blog, I just can’t quit this amazing service.

Little Spoon is keeping our little bellies fed and our parental worries at bay!
